SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edna C. "Katie" Gruber of Joliet, who passed away on November 20, 2016, at the of 88; and

WHEREAS, Edna Gruber was employed by the Joliet Herald News and Fredricks Bindery; and

WHEREAS, Edna Gruber loved going to church and being with family; and

WHEREAS, Edna Gruber was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander "Sonny" Gruber; her infant son, David; her son, Timothy J. Gruber; her parents, Edward, and Pearl Madden; her brothers, John, and Edward "Ned" Madden; and her sister, Mary "Lorraine" Dirker; and

WHEREAS, Edna Gruber is survived by her son, Terrence A. (Jeanine) Gruber; her daughter, Cathy (John) DiGiovanni; her sisters, Bernadine (Al) Palmer, Nora (Henry) Errek, Patricia (Robert) Taylor, and Jule (Richard) Arambasich; her grandchildren, T.J. (Sue) Gruber, Christopher (Stefanie) Gruber, Katie (Will) Napier, Cassie (Michael) Pouk, and John (Katie) and Alexis DiGiovanni; her great-grandchildren, A.J., Benjamin, and Abigail Gruber, Emma and Talen Napier, Reese and Blaire Gruber, Harlow Pouk, and Sarah DiGiovanni; her daughter-in-law, Andrea Gruber; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edna C. "Katie" Gruber, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edna Gruber as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
