| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Edward D. "Hook" McCormick of | 4 | | Collinsville, who passed away on June 9, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward McCormick was born in East St. Louis to | 6 | | Milford and Marie (Bailey) McCormick on August 13, 1943; he | 7 | | married Gloria "Jeannie" Hensler; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Edward McCormick retired from Monsanto in Sauget; | 9 | | and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Edward McCormick was the former President of the | 11 | | Chemical Workers Union, where he was the chief spokesman of | 12 | | local and big table negotiations; he was awarded the 1998 Labor | 13 | | Man of the Year; he belonged to the Southwestern Central Labor | 14 | | Council; he was awarded the 1992 Thomas E. Boyle Award for | 15 | | dedication and personal contribution to the International | 16 | | Chemical Workers Union; he was a full-time union representative | 17 | | from 1980 until his retirement in December of 1998; he was a | 18 | | democratic precinct committeeman and received the Retirement | 19 | | Award from Collinsville Township; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Edward McCormick was a member of the Schlitz | 21 | | Softball Team and the Collinsville Recreation Club since 1974; |

| 1 | | he was the Fishing Derby Chairman from 1999 to 2014; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Edward McCormick was preceded in death by his | 3 | | parents; his brother, Bruce McCormick; and his sister, Charlene | 4 | | Druse; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward McCormick is survived by his wife, Jeannie; | 6 | | his son, Brian (Ruby) Morrissey; his grandchildren, Kelly | 7 | | Morrissey and Timothy Morrissey; his brother-in-law, Ronald | 8 | | Druse; his sisters-in-law, Linda Osborn and Brenda Russell; his | 9 | | nephews, Dwayne Druse and Douglas Druse; and many loving | 10 | | nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Edward D. "Hook" McCormick, and extend our sincere condolences | 14 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 15 | | it further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Edward McCormick as an expression of | 18 | | our deepest sympathy.
