| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Merle Emery of Bunker Hill, who passed | 4 | | away on May 10, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Merle Emery was born in Bunker Hill to John Wesley | 6 | | and Frances Marie (Maxwell) Emery on July 7, 1932; he married | 7 | | Charlotte Ann Sneeringer at the Bunker Hill Baptist Parsonage | 8 | | on April 6, 1951; he served in the United States Army during | 9 | | the Korean Conflict; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Merle Emery worked as a truck driver; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Merle Emery was a Deacon at the First Assembly of | 12 | | God Church in Bunker Hill for 21 years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Merle Emery was preceded in death by his parents, | 14 | | and his brothers, JW Emery and Lyle Emery; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Merle Emery is survived by his wife, Charlotte; | 16 | | his son, Scott Emery; his grandchildren, Eric Wayne Emery and | 17 | | Nick Emery; his three siblings, Dean Emery, William Emery, and | 18 | | Shirley Shultz; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; | 19 | | therefore, be it
