SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Merle Emery of Bunker Hill, who passed
4away on May 10, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Merle Emery was born in Bunker Hill to John Wesley
6and Frances Marie (Maxwell) Emery on July 7, 1932; he married
7Charlotte Ann Sneeringer at the Bunker Hill Baptist Parsonage
8on April 6, 1951; he served in the United States Army during
9the Korean Conflict; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Merle Emery worked as a truck driver; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Merle Emery was a Deacon at the First Assembly of
12God Church in Bunker Hill for 21 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Merle Emery was preceded in death by his parents,
14and his brothers, JW Emery and Lyle Emery; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Merle Emery is survived by his wife, Charlotte;
16his son, Scott Emery; his grandchildren, Eric Wayne Emery and
17Nick Emery; his three siblings, Dean Emery, William Emery, and
18Shirley Shultz; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins;
19therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Merle Emery, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
4friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Merle Emery as an expression of our
7deepest sympathy.
