HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lloyd Maday of Evanston, who passed away on February 25, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Maday was born in Evanston on January 24, 1931; he married Kathleen McRaith in 1960; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Maday was an entrepreneur at the young age of 19, opening Maday Brothers, an auto mechanic shop at the corner of Central Street and Broadway; together with his brothers, he grew the shop into an enduring local business that takes care of its customers to this day; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Maday's true passion and love of his life was his family; he was a generous patriarch that lead by example and shined his light brightest with his wife and children and 29 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Maday coached Little League, football, and baseball at St. Athanasius Grade School in Evanston; he also enjoyed mentoring young people who were interested in cars; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Maday was preceded in death by his son, John Stephen Maday; his parents, Steven and Bertha Maday; his brothers and their spouses, Bob and Jean Maday, Steve Maday, Larry Maday, Ralph and Lucy Maday, and Jerry Maday; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Maday is survived by his wife, Kathleen Maday; his children and their spouses, Maureen and Mike Frazell, Tom and Gerry Maday, Liz Brieva, Katie and Jeff Mohajir, Terry and Eileen Maday, Peggy and Peter Martin, and Billy and Adele Maday; his grandchildren, Peter, Patrick, and Joseph Frazell, Leo and Sophie Maday, Jena, Claire, Gabriel, Nathan, Tess, Leah, and Cecilia Brieva, Max, Nicholas, Andrew, Samuel, Kathleen, Alexander and Christopher Mohajir, Michaela, Kelly, Johnny and Terrence Maday, Ellie, Greta, Jesse, and Brendan Martin, and Brian and Abby Maday; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing Lloyd Maday, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lloyd Maday as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
