SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
35 ILCS 5/507EEE

    Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act. Provides that the income tax checkoff for the U.S.S. Illinois Commissioning Fund applies for taxable years ending on or after December 31, 2015 (instead of December 31, 2014) and ending on or before December 31, 2017 (instead of December 31, 2016). Provides that the provisions creating the checkoff are repealed on December 31, 2018 (instead of December 31, 2017). Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning revenue.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Income Tax Act is amended by
5changing Section 507EEE as follows:
 
6    (35 ILCS 5/507EEE)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2017)
8    Sec. 507EEE. U.S.S. Illinois Commissioning Fund checkoff.
9For taxable years ending on or after December 31, 2015 December
1031, 2014 and ending on or before December 31, 2017 December 31,
112016, the Department must print on its standard individual
12income tax form a provision (i) indicating that if the taxpayer
13wishes to contribute to the U.S.S. Illinois Commissioning Fund,
14a special fund created in the State treasury, for the purpose
15of donating to the U.S.S. Illinois Commissioning Committee, as
16authorized by this amendatory Act of the 99th General Assembly,
17he or she may do so by stating the amount of the contribution
18(not less than $1) on the return and (ii) stating that the
19contribution will reduce the taxpayer's refund or increase the
20amount of payment to accompany the return. Failure to remit any
21amount of increased payment shall reduce the contribution
22accordingly. Notwithstanding any other provision of law,
23moneys deposited into the U.S.S. Illinois Commissioning Fund

1from contributions under this Section shall be used by the
2Department of Military Affairs to make grants to the U.S.S.
3Illinois Commissioning Committee. This Section does not apply
4to any amended return.
5    This Section is repealed on December 31, 2018 December 31,
62017.
