SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mark Phillip Gleason of Springfield, who passed away on November 16, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Mark Gleason was born to Mark Bryce Gleason and Toni Rae Wiard Gleason in Springfield on August 1, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Mark Gleason loved playing with the Chatham Glenwood Junior Football League and was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears; he enjoyed going on motorcycle rides and playing Bingo; and

WHEREAS, Mark Gleason, known to many as "Little Mark", was a great friend and a wonderful son, brother, and grandson; he was deeply passionate about his cat, Huckleberry; he will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his contagious smile, and his heart of gold; and

WHEREAS, Mark Gleason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bryce (Eileen) Gleason and Phil Wiard, and his aunts, Tracy Compston and Joni Leckrone; and

WHEREAS, Mark Gleason is survived by his parents; his sister, Monica Raines; his stepsisters, Kaytlin Smith, Ashli Smith, and Dawn (Josh) Kerska; his stepbrothers, Jeremy (Jeni) Sellers and Cody (Amber) Sellers; his grandparents, Dorthy Shaw and Shirley Ravensburg; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mark Phillip Gleason and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mark Gleason as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
