SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Arnie Frank Bryant; and

WHEREAS, He was born in Hartford, Alabama, the oldest of five children born to Frank and Rosie Anderson; he was raised in Newark, New Jersey, Chicago, and Maywood; and

WHEREAS, He attended Farragut and Proviso East High Schools; he joined the United States Army in 1977 and remained on active duty until 1997; he accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age at Proviso Missionary Baptist Church under Bishop Claude Porter; he was a member of New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Carl Hopson at the time of his passing; and

WHEREAS, He was a caring and compassionate man who loved his family and fellow man; he was the President of the Proviso Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) for many years and a Proviso Township Trustee; he was also President of the Bellwood Library Board; and

WHEREAS, he worked in law enforcement for twenty years; he was most recently employed as Deputy Chief of the Records Center for Cook County; and

WHEREAS, Arnie Frank Bryant was preceded in death by his goddaughter, Leslie Thompson; his mother; his brother, Douglas; and his sister, Thelma; and

WHEREAS, Arnie Frank Bryant is survived by his wife and friend, Gladis; his children, Brittany and Frank; his grandson, Austin Murray; Kassy Twine; his father, Frank Anderson; his brother, Raymond Bryant (Christina); his sister, Crystal King (David); and many nieces and nephews, all who were his favorite; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Arnie Frank Bryant; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Arnie Frank Bryant as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
