SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kurt E. Kampendahl of Antioch, who passed away on February 15, 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was born October 15, 1949 in Chicago, the son of Einar and Violet (Hahndorf) Kampendahl; he graduated from Eureka College in Peoria with a degree in biology; and

WHEREAS, On April 21, 1979 he married Karen A. Korbal in Wauconda; before moving to Antioch in 1985 he had lived in Vernon Hills; Kurt worked as a senior software associate for the AVAYA Corporation and also worked part time for 10 years for Bass Pro Shops; and

WHEREAS, He loved football and played semi-pro and coached for the Racine Raiders and other teams for 22 years until he was 42 years old; he also was an avid fisherman; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Einar Kampendahl; and

WHEREAS, Kurt Kampendahl is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Karen; his son, Kurt E. II (Bethany); his daughter, Kelly; his mother, Violet Kampendahl; his brother, Karl; and his sisters, Kristine (Dennis) Rowe and Karen Kampendahl; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Kurt E. Kempendahl; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kurt E. Kempendahl as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
