SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Kurt E. Kampendahl of Antioch, who passed
4 away on February 15, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born October 15, 1949 in Chicago, the son
6 of Einar and Violet (Hahndorf) Kampendahl; he graduated from
7 Eureka College in Peoria with a degree in biology; and
 
8     WHEREAS, On April 21, 1979 he married Karen A. Korbal in
9 Wauconda; before moving to Antioch in 1985 he had lived in
10 Vernon Hills; Kurt worked as a senior software associate for
11 the AVAYA Corporation and also worked part time for 10 years
12 for Bass Pro Shops; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He loved football and played semi-pro and coached
14 for the Racine Raiders and other teams for 22 years until he
15 was 42 years old; he also was an avid fisherman; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Einar
17 Kampendahl; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Kurt Kampendahl is survived by his wife of nearly
19 30 years, Karen; his son, Kurt E. II (Bethany); his daughter,
20 Kelly; his mother, Violet Kampendahl; his brother, Karl; and

1 his sisters, Kristine (Dennis) Rowe and Karen Kampendahl;
2 therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 his family and friends, the passing of Kurt E. Kempendahl; and
6 be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Kurt E. Kempendahl as a symbol of
9 our sincere sympathy.
