HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lindenhurst Chief of Police Jack McKeever on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He has served as the Chief of Police for the past 17 years; he is originally from the southside of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, While studying for the priesthood he supplemented his income by working as a police dispatcher; he went on to serve as a police officer for Highland Park, and retired from that role after serving for 21 years; and

WHEREAS, He has served as an instructor in the master's degree program at the Chicago Police Academy and for the International Association of Chiefs of Police; he is the Past President/Chairman of the Lake County Chiefs of Police, Major Crimes Task Force, and Juvenile Officers Association; and

WHEREAS, For the past 10 years he has served as one of the 14 national consultants on Smaller Agency Issues for the International Association of Chiefs of Police; he is the co-authors of publications on police personnel recruitment, retention issues, and the juvenile justice system; and

WHEREAS, He has a Bachelor's degree in philosophy, a Master's degree in theology and a Master's degree in public administration; and he attended the advanced police administrative course at the Southern Police Institute in Louisville; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Lindenhurst Chief of Police Jack McKeever on his retirement and wish him continued success in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lindenhurst Chief of Police Jack McKeever as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
