HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lindenhurst Chief
4of Police Jack McKeever on his retirement; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He has served as the Chief of Police for the past
617 years; he is originally from the southside of Chicago; and
 
7    WHEREAS, While studying for the priesthood he supplemented
8his income by working as a police dispatcher; he went on to
9serve as a police officer for Highland Park, and retired from
10that role after serving for 21 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He has served as an instructor in the master's
12degree program at the Chicago Police Academy and for the
13International Association of Chiefs of Police; he is the Past
14President/Chairman of the Lake County Chiefs of Police, Major
15Crimes Task Force, and Juvenile Officers Association; and
 
16    WHEREAS, For the past 10 years he has served as one of the
1714 national consultants on Smaller Agency Issues for the
18International Association of Chiefs of Police; he is the
19co-authors of publications on police personnel recruitment,
20retention issues, and the juvenile justice system; and

1    WHEREAS, He has a Bachelor's degree in philosophy, a
2Master's degree in theology and a Master's degree in public
3administration; and he attended the advanced police
4administrative course at the Southern Police Institute in
5Louisville; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8congratulate Lindenhurst Chief of Police Jack McKeever on his
9retirement and wish him continued success in his future
10endeavors; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Lindenhurst Chief of Police Jack McKeever as a
13symbol of our respect and esteem.
