HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jack L. Record of Mattoon, who passed away on June 20, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Jack Record was born on June 1, 1930; he was the son of Charles and Nora Blanche (Morris) Record; he married Joan Welsh on October 3, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Jack Record graduated from Mattoon High School in 1949; he served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict; and

WHEREAS, Jack Record was self-employed as the owner-operator of the Dairy Queen in Charleston, Illinois; he was later employed by the Veterans Administration and the Illinois Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Jack Record was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the VFW, the Mattoon Letterman's Club, and the Mattoon High School Hall of Fame; he served on the Coles County Board, the Embarras River Basin Agency, and the Coles County Housing Authority; he was also a 2-term Mattoon City Commissioner; and

WHEREAS, Jack Record was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 sisters, and his 3 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Jack Record is survived by his wife; his children, Sally Eck and her husband, Todd, and their children, Amanda and Dustin (Lindsey); Susan and her friend, Paul Comforti; Sheila; Shady Raboin and her husband, Jeff, and their son, Jack; and Rush and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Kennedy and Delaney; he is also survived by his 3 step-grandchildren and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jack L. Record; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Record as an expression of our sympathy.
