HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jack L.
4Record of Mattoon, who passed away on June 20, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Record was born on June 1, 1930; he was the
6son of Charles and Nora Blanche (Morris) Record; he married
7Joan Welsh on October 3, 1953; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jack Record graduated from Mattoon High School in
91949; he served his country with pride and distinction as a
10member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean
11Conflict; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jack Record was self-employed as the
13owner-operator of the Dairy Queen in Charleston, Illinois; he
14was later employed by the Veterans Administration and the
15Illinois Department of Transportation until his retirement in
162000; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jack Record was a member of the Immaculate
18Conception Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the
19American Legion, the VFW, the Mattoon Letterman's Club, and the
20Mattoon High School Hall of Fame; he served on the Coles County
21Board, the Embarras River Basin Agency, and the Coles County

1Housing Authority; he was also a 2-term Mattoon City
2Commissioner; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jack Record was preceded in death by his parents,
4his 2 sisters, and his 3 brothers; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Record is survived by his wife; his children,
6Sally Eck and her husband, Todd, and their children, Amanda and
7Dustin (Lindsey); Susan and her friend, Paul Comforti; Sheila;
8Shady Raboin and her husband, Jeff, and their son, Jack; and
9Rush and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Kennedy and
10Delaney; he is also survived by his 3 step-grandchildren and
11his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jack
15L. Record; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Jack Record as an expression of our
18sympathy.
