HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Windy City Warriors on winning their 5th State title at the Illinois High School Association Wheelchair Basketball State Championships; and

WHEREAS, The Windy City Warriors are a youth wheelchair basketball team sponsored by the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA); WDSRA provides recreation for people with physical disabilities from the grass roots level to the elite athletes preparing for college and the Paralympics; and

WHEREAS, They recently won the Illinois High School Association Wheelchair Basketball State Title for the fifth time as they swept the tournament with a 5-0 record, the tournament was held March 12-13, 2010, in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, The team coaches are Kevin Hosea and Steve Bicek; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Warriors are: Amy Chapman, Blake Harmet, Randi Reingardt, Justin Harrison, Matt Molenkamp, Chris Murphy, Jonathan Ruiz, Nick Umek, Douglas Davison, Erik Todd, Kyle Gribble, and Dannie Ocasio; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Windy City Warriors for their outstanding success and wish them the best in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Windy City Warriors as a symbol of our respect.
