AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by changing Sections 2-5 and 2-7 as follows:

Sec. 2-5. Compensation and expenses of members. The members of the State Board shall serve without compensation but they shall be reimbursed for their actual and necessary expenses while engaged in the performance of their duties. Such expenses incurred by any non-voting student member may, at the discretion of the Chairman of the Board, be provided for by advance payment to such member, who shall account therefor to the Board immediately after each meeting.

Sec. 2-7. The Board may appoint advisory committees, the members of which shall serve without compensation but shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the administration of the Act.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2010.
