SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert B. Faje of Downers Grove, who passed away on August 16, 2008; and

WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, He was the manager of the Glenside Lady Vipers in Glendale Heights and had coached girls softball for over 26 years; and

WHEREAS, He began coaching softball after his daughter, Tracey, began playing for the summer league team, the DOLLS; he coached in the DOLLS organization for fifteen years, compiling a record of 510 wins and 132 losses, including the years 1995, 1996, and 1997, when his teams advanced to the National Softball Association World Series; and

WHEREAS, In 1997 he began his own traveling softball program, the DuPage Power; in his final season his team posted a record of 56 wins and 22 losses and won four tournament titles; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack; and

WHEREAS, Robert Faje is survived by his wife Donna (nee McKenzie); his daughters, Lisa (Doug) Spangenberg and Tracey (Kevin) Rose; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Tiffany, Chantelle, and Devin; and his mother-in-law, Lillian McKenzie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family, friends, and players, the passing of Robert Faje; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert B. Faje as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
