SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Robert B. Faje of Downers Grove, who
4 passed away on August 16, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Army; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was the manager of the Glenside Lady Vipers in
7 Glendale Heights and had coached girls softball for over 26
8 years; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He began coaching softball after his daughter,
10 Tracey, began playing for the summer league team, the DOLLS; he
11 coached in the DOLLS organization for fifteen years, compiling
12 a record of 510 wins and 132 losses, including the years 1995,
13 1996, and 1997, when his teams advanced to the National
14 Softball Association World Series; and
 
15     WHEREAS, In 1997 he began his own traveling softball
16 program, the DuPage Power; in his final season his team posted
17 a record of 56 wins and 22 losses and won four tournament
18 titles; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack; and

1     WHEREAS, Robert Faje is survived by his wife Donna (nee
2 McKenzie); his daughters, Lisa (Doug) Spangenberg and Tracey
3 (Kevin) Rose; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Tiffany, Chantelle,
4 and Devin; and his mother-in-law, Lillian McKenzie; therefore,
5 be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family, friends, and players, the passing of Robert Faje;
9 and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Robert B. Faje as a symbol of our
12 sincere sympathy.
