SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Roscoe of Big Rock, formerly of Aurora, who passed away at the grand age of 74; and

WHEREAS, William Roscoe courageously served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy; and

WHEREAS, William Roscoe was a proud Executive Board member of Plumbers and Pipefitters, UA Local Union 501, of which he was a current officer of the retiree club; and

WHEREAS, William Roscoe was a dedicated volunteer in the Mooseheart community, the Phoenix Club, and AMVETS; and

WHEREAS, William Roscoe enjoyed fishing, trips to Canada with his family and friends, and coaching the Chicago Bears season after season from the comfort of his recliner; and

WHEREAS, William Roscoe was a courageous fighter, having fought two bouts with cancer; he sadly succumbed to his final battle with lung cancer; and

WHEREAS, William Roscoe is survived by his wife, Joni (Szilage/Lurz); his children, Scott (Lisa) Roscoe, Jeff (Theresa) Roscoe, and Pam Miller; his many nieces and nephews; and his many great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of William Roscoe; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Roscoe as an expression of our sympathy.
