SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of William Roscoe of Big Rock, formerly of
4 Aurora, who passed away at the grand age of 74; and
 
5     WHEREAS, William Roscoe courageously served his country
6 during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy;
7 and
 
8     WHEREAS, William Roscoe was a proud Executive Board member
9 of Plumbers and Pipefitters, UA Local Union 501, of which he
10 was a current officer of the retiree club; and
 
11     WHEREAS, William Roscoe was a dedicated volunteer in the
12 Mooseheart community, the Phoenix Club, and AMVETS; and
 
13     WHEREAS, William Roscoe enjoyed fishing, trips to Canada
14 with his family and friends, and coaching the Chicago Bears
15 season after season from the comfort of his recliner; and
 
16     WHEREAS, William Roscoe was a courageous fighter, having
17 fought two bouts with cancer; he sadly succumbed to his final
18 battle with lung cancer; and
 
19     WHEREAS, William Roscoe is survived by his wife, Joni

1 (Szilage/Lurz); his children, Scott (Lisa) Roscoe, Jeff
2 (Theresa) Roscoe, and Pam Miller; his many nieces and nephews;
3 and his many great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of William Roscoe; and be
7 it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of William Roscoe as an expression of
10 our sympathy.
