SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alice Elizabeth Ruesch (nee Ames) of Zion, who passed away on March 10, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Alice was born October 6, 1914, in Wadsworth and was a graduate of Warren Township High School; she married Carl Ruesch on September 14, 1935, and along with her husband was a founding member of Lakeview Church in Zion; and

WHEREAS, Alice was employed as an assistant chef at Glen Flora Country Club in Waukegan during World War I and World War II; she later became a housewife and was very active in Lakeview Church; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ruesch; her granddaughter, Reyna Ruesch; her grandson, Timothy Goodwin; her brother, George Pulver; her sister, Grace Theiss; her brother, Alvin Ames; her sister, Madess Gust; her brother, Fremont Ames; her sister, Marceline Herman; her brother, Mortimer Ames; her sister, Margaret Ames; and her father and mother, Edgar and Emma Ames; and

WHEREAS, She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Howard) Goodwin, David (Monica) Ruesch, Don (Mari) Ruesch, and Julie (Richard) Gates; her grandchildren, Amy (Tom) Barber, Howard Goodwin, Heather (Robert) Kukla, James Ruesch, Richard (Terri) Ruesch, Annie (Jeff) Hines, Christopher Ruesch, Patrick (Diane) Ruesch, Scott (Mary) Ruesch, Aaron Ruesch, Rachael Ruesch, Andrew Ruesch, and Sarah Gates; her great-grandchildren, Jennifer Pedersen, Emily and Alex Barber, Joshua and Morgan Kukla, Amy Schemenour, Brittany, Daniel, Katlynn, Madison and Matthew Ruesch, Jeffrey and Brandon Hines, and Cory, Megan, Jacob, Katie, Brianna, Baylee, and Matthew Ruesch; and her seven great-great-grandchildren; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Alice Ruesch; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alice Elizabeth Ruesch as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
