SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Helen E. (Kochan) Yungck of Alton, who passed away on March 3, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Helen E. (Kochan) Yungck was born September 6, 1925, in Wood River, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Varga) Kochan; she married Robert J. Yungck June 4, 1949, in Alton; and

WHEREAS, She was a secretary at Millers Mutual, a secretary at the University of Illinois while her husband attended architectural engineering school, and was employed at Duke Bakery; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; her sister, Anna Kochan Dudzik; her brother, Joseph Kochan; and her son-in-law, John McLagan; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Helen Yungck will be deeply felt by her daughters and spouses, Karen and Robert Hertz, Jayne and P.J. Jun, and Debra and Mark Pohlman; her son, Robert and his wife, Vesta; her grandchildren, Michael (Gretchen) Hertz, Meredith and Melissa Hertz, Brian and David Jun, Jennifer and Matthew McLagan, Tyler McKenzie, and Madilyn Yungck; her two step-grandchildren, Jackie and Olivia Pohlman; her sister, Mary Haist; her brother, Tom "Bum" Kochan; and her sister-in-law, Emma Kochan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Helen E. Yungck; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Helen E. Yungck as a symbol of our sincere condolences.
