SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Brother Robert Ruhl of Arlington Heights, who passed away on February 2, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl was born on March 18, 1947; his parents were Adolph and Dorothea Ruhl; and

WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl pronounced his first vows as a member of the Clerics of St. Viator on September 1, 1966; he earned his bachelor of science degree in English and French from Loyola University in Chicago in 1970; he earned his master's degree in English from the University of Chicago in 1973; and

WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl taught advanced placement English, literature, and composition at St. Viator High School since 1970; he developed a fine reputation as a knowledgeable and dedicated teacher at St. Viator; and

WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl is survived by his cousins, Joseph Fleischmann, Dolores Zelasko, Robert Smith, Richard Bauer, and Hellen Bauer; and

WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl's intense dedication to his students and to his faith will be fondly remembered by his colleagues, former students, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the death of Brother Robert Ruhl; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Brother Robert Ruhl as a symbol of our sympathy and respect.
