SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Brother Robert Ruhl of Arlington Heights,
4 who passed away on February 2, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl was born on March 18, 1947;
6 his parents were Adolph and Dorothea Ruhl; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl pronounced his first vows as a
8 member of the Clerics of St. Viator on September 1, 1966; he
9 earned his bachelor of science degree in English and French
10 from Loyola University in Chicago in 1970; he earned his
11 master's degree in English from the University of Chicago in
12 1973; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl taught advanced placement
14 English, literature, and composition at St. Viator High School
15 since 1970; he developed a fine reputation as a knowledgeable
16 and dedicated teacher at St. Viator; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl was preceded in death by his
18 parents; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl is survived by his cousins,
20 Joseph Fleischmann, Dolores Zelasko, Robert Smith, Richard

1 Bauer, and Hellen Bauer; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Brother Robert Ruhl's intense dedication to his
3 students and to his faith will be fondly remembered by his
4 colleagues, former students, and friends; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7 his family and friends, the death of Brother Robert Ruhl; and
8 be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of Brother Robert Ruhl as a symbol of
11 our sympathy and respect.
