SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard J. Hardy, formerly of Chicago, who passed away on January 17, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Richard J. Hardy was born and raised in Oak Park; he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before serving in the United States Army during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hardy was a longtime commercial and real estate loan officer for Beverly Bank in Chicago; while working in the Beverly neighborhood he took pride in helping people he knew purchase a home or start a new business; and

WHEREAS, He went on to work for the First National Bank of Blue Island and also worked for the Northern Trust Bank of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, After his retirement, Mr. Hardy moved to Beverly Shores, Indiana, and Key West, Florida; in recent years he divided his time between his homes in Mount Dora, Florida and Indian Head Park; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hardy was a skeet shooting enthusiast and a member of the Eustis Gun Club in Florida and the Downer Grove Sportsmen's Club; and

WHEREAS, Richard J. Hardy is survived by his wife, Genevieve Woulfe Hardy; his children, Thomas Hardy, Christine Cornillie, Steven Hardy, Cathlyn Kromi, and Brian Hardy; and his nine grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Richard J. Hardy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard J. Hardy as a symbol of our sympathy.
