SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Richard J. Hardy, formerly of Chicago,
4 who passed away on January 17, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Richard J. Hardy was born and raised in Oak Park;
6 he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
7 before serving in the United States Army during the Korean War;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Hardy was a longtime commercial and real
10 estate loan officer for Beverly Bank in Chicago; while working
11 in the Beverly neighborhood he took pride in helping people he
12 knew purchase a home or start a new business; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He went on to work for the First National Bank of
14 Blue Island and also worked for the Northern Trust Bank of
15 Chicago; and
 
16     WHEREAS, After his retirement, Mr. Hardy moved to Beverly
17 Shores, Indiana, and Key West, Florida; in recent years he
18 divided his time between his homes in Mount Dora, Florida and
19 Indian Head Park; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Mr. Hardy was a skeet shooting enthusiast and a

1 member of the Eustis Gun Club in Florida and the Downer Grove
2 Sportsmen's Club; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Richard J. Hardy is survived by his wife,
4 Genevieve Woulfe Hardy; his children, Thomas Hardy, Christine
5 Cornillie, Steven Hardy, Cathlyn Kromi, and Brian Hardy; and
6 his nine grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9 his family and friends, the passing of Richard J. Hardy; and be
10 it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to the family of Richard J. Hardy as a symbol of our
13 sympathy.
