SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard George Younge, Esq., of East St. Louis, who passed away on June 6, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Younge was the husband of State Representative Wyvetter Younge; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Younge was a member of the Illinois Metro East and Mound City Bar Associations, the NAACP, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and St. Luke AME Church; and he was a veteran of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Younge was a graduate of Lincoln University and the University of Illinois and practiced law for over forty years; he was very involved in desegregating theaters and schools; and he enjoyed flying and hunting; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Felecia Younge; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Richard Younge will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him, especially his wife, the Honorable Wyvetter Younge; his sons, Richard (Mable) Younge Jr., Roland (Ann) Younge, and Torque Young; his daughter, Margaret (Edward) Hewitt; his grandchildren, Morgan, McKenzie, Jewel, Mason, Dawn, and Jaema; and his many relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Richard George Younge; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard George Younge as a symbol of our sympathy.
