SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Richard George Younge, Esq., of East St.
4 Louis, who passed away on June 6, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Younge was the husband of State Representative
6 Wyvetter Younge; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Mr. Younge was a member of the Illinois Metro East
8 and Mound City Bar Associations, the NAACP, Kappa Alpha Psi
9 Fraternity, and St. Luke AME Church; and he was a veteran of
10 the United States Army; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Mr. Younge was a graduate of Lincoln University
12 and the University of Illinois and practiced law for over forty
13 years; he was very involved in desegregating theaters and
14 schools; and he enjoyed flying and hunting; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth
16 Felecia Younge; and
 
17     WHEREAS, The passing of Richard Younge will be deeply felt
18 by all those who knew and loved him, especially his wife, the
19 Honorable Wyvetter Younge; his sons, Richard (Mable) Younge
20 Jr., Roland (Ann) Younge, and Torque Young; his daughter,

1 Margaret (Edward) Hewitt; his grandchildren, Morgan, McKenzie,
2 Jewel, Mason, Dawn, and Jaema; and his many relatives and
3 friends; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of Richard George Younge;
7 and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Richard George Younge as a symbol of
10 our sympathy.
