SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Senate is saddened to learn of the passing of Kent Alan "Mr. A" Alexander of Carterville on February 6, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Alexander was born December 5, 1965, in Mount Vernon, to Richard Dale and Marcia Susette (Frost) Alexander; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Alexander graduated from Carterville High School in 1983 with high honors and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1990 with a bachelor of science in biology and computer science; and

WHEREAS, He married Kristi Lynn Hardin on September 24, 1998, in Paducah and taught for 12 years as a science teacher at Carterville Junior High School and served as the girls junior high basketball coach for four years; previous to teaching at Carterville, he was the biology instructor at Rantoul High School for three years; and

WHEREAS, He was an all-conference offensive lineman for Carterville High School, an avid St. Louis Rams football fan, and loved collecting comic books, comic book memorabilia, voice prints of old time radio shows, and also was an amateur herpetologist; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Alexander was a born again Christian, a member of Crainville Baptist Church, and a devoted family man who loved spending time with his children and pets, especially his beloved mutt Luke; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Kent Alan "Mr. A" Alexander will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, his children, Haleigh, Nathaniel, and Gabriel; his parents; his brother, Bradley Gene Alexander; his mother-in-law, Loyce Hardin; and his numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins; he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ryburn and Mae Alexander and Leo and Alice Frost, and his sister-in-law, Kathy Hardin; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that, along with his family and friends, we mourn the death of Kent Alan "Mr. A" Alexander; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
