SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Lola Ethel Evans of Carterville on July 11, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Evans was born March 19, 1916, to Thomas Clifton and Lora Ethel (Taylor) Henderson; she married James A. Evans on March 31, 1934; and

WHEREAS, She worked at the Glove factory, Hoosier Cardinal, Illinois Baptist State Association, Illinois Southern Baptist foundation, and Petrolane; she also held the office of secretary for her Sunday school class; she was a member of Carterville First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and played the organ and the piano; and

WHEREAS, The best times of her life were spent with her family and friends; she was an exceptional painter, quilter, and crocheted everything imaginable; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Lloyd Henderson, and her sister, Rosamond Widick; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Lola Evans is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her sons and daughter-in-law, Donald and Betty Evans and James Lonnie Evans; her grandchildren, Donnie and Sherril Evans, Jim and Cindy Evans, Tana and Joe Greenlee, and Mary Jane and Craig Fuller; her great-grandchildren, Cassie and Michael Dann, Jamie Evans, Ashley Liddell, Anna Evans, Amy Greenlee, Derrik Liddell, Kelsey Evans, Adam Greenlee, Emily Evans, and Jonathon Evans; her great-great-grandson, Parker Evans Dann; her sister-in-law, Irene Robinson; her brother-in-law, Hugh Widick; her sister-in-law, Elwanda Evans; and her nieces, nephews, and special friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lola Evans and extend our sincerest condolences to her family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
