SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Arnold Bradford Guill of Royalton on April 25, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Guill was born on July 12, 1913, in Carbondale to Enos Hampton and Ethel Guill; he was raised by Pettis and Nancy Colp from age 8; he married Vivian Royster on August 3, 1935, in Benton; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Royalton; and

WHEREAS, He was a retired coal miner who last worked at Old Ben No. 26 in Sesser and was a member of the UMWA local union; and

WHEREAS, He was an avid fisherman and gardener; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, a brother, Eugene Guill, and an infant great-grandchild, Maddie Michelle Elliott; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Arnold Guill is felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his daughter and son-in-law, Marilee and Raymond Weiser; his sons and daughters-in-law, David Eugene and Sondra Guill and Samuel Enos and Virginia Guill; his special friend with whom he was raised, Elsie Jarvis; his grandchildren, Teresa Camarato, Ramona Chamness, Susanne Hill, Andrea Elliott, Christy Brower (Mayor of Royalton), David Guill, Samuel Edward Guill, Lawrence Dwayne Guill, and Jerry Lee Guill; his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Thelma Lang and Rose Vaughn; and his brother, Enos Guill Jr.; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Arnold B. Guill and extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
