SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Arnold Bradford Guill of
4 Royalton on April 25, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Guill was born on July 12, 1913, in Carbondale
6 to Enos Hampton and Ethel Guill; he was raised by Pettis and
7 Nancy Colp from age 8; he married Vivian Royster on August 3,
8 1935, in Benton; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in
10 Royalton; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was a retired coal miner who last worked at Old
12 Ben No. 26 in Sesser and was a member of the UMWA local union;
13 and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was an avid fisherman and gardener; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents,
16 a brother, Eugene Guill, and an infant great-grandchild, Maddie
17 Michelle Elliott; and
 
18     WHEREAS, The passing of Arnold Guill is felt by all who
19 knew and loved him, especially his daughter and son-in-law,
20 Marilee and Raymond Weiser; his sons and daughters-in-law,
21 David Eugene and Sondra Guill and Samuel Enos and Virginia
22 Guill; his special friend with whom he was raised, Elsie
23 Jarvis; his grandchildren, Teresa Camarato, Ramona Chamness,
24 Susanne Hill, Andrea Elliott, Christy Brower (Mayor of
25 Royalton), David Guill, Samuel Edward Guill, Lawrence Dwayne
26 Guill, and Jerry Lee Guill; his great-grandchildren and
27 great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Thelma Lang and Rose
28 Vaughn; and his brother, Enos Guill Jr.; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Arnold B. Guill and extend our sincerest condolences to his
4 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
7 sympathy.
