SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
40 ILCS 5/6-220   from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 6-220

    Amends the Chicago Firefighter Article of the Illinois Pension Code. In provisions concerning a biennial report of the results of an examination of the fund, requires the Secretary of Financial and Professional Regulation (now, an obsolete reference to the Director of Insurance) to file an additional copy of the report with the Auditor General.

1     AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing
5 Section 6-220 as follows:
 
6     (40 ILCS 5/6-220)  (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 6-220)
7     Sec. 6-220. Examination and report by the Secretary of
8 Financial and Professional Regulation director of insurance.
9 The Secretary of Financial and Professional Regulation
10 Director of Insurance biennially shall make a thorough
11 examination of the fund provided for in this Article. He or she
12 shall report the results thereof with such recommendations as
13 he or she deems proper to the Governor for transmittal to the
14 General Assembly and send a copy to the board and to the city
15 council of the city. The city council shall file such report
16 and recommendations in the official record of its proceedings.
17     The requirement for reporting to the General Assembly shall
18 be satisfied by filing copies of the report with the Speaker,
19 the Minority Leader and the Clerk of the House of
20 Representatives and the President, the Minority Leader and the
21 Secretary of the Senate, the Auditor General, and the
22 Legislative Research Unit, as required by Section 3.1 of "An
23 Act to revise the law in relation to the General Assembly",
24 approved February 25, 1874, as amended, and filing such
25 additional copies with the State Government Report
26 Distribution Center for the General Assembly as is required
27 under paragraph (t) of Section 7 of the State Library Act.
