HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, On April 8, 2023, the Village of Shiloh will host the Bob Goalby Proclamation Day & Master's Watch Party Ceremony; and

WHEREAS, Bob Goalby graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1947 and became a professional golfer in 1956; he won 11 PGA Tour events during his career, the most prestigious being the 1968 Masters Tournament; he later became an analyst for NBC Sports and designed many golf courses, including the Yorktown Golf Course; he was the founding member of the Senior PGA Tour and served 11 years on its policy board; he dedicated his life to golf throughout the country, especially in Belleville; and

WHEREAS, Numerous events have been planned for April in honor of Bob Goalby, including the watch party, a carnival, and of course, plenty of golf; and

WHEREAS, The local police, fire, EMT departments, local military personnel, and the general public are all invited to participate in the celebration; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the Bob Goalby Proclamation Day & Master's Watch Party Ceremony; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Shiloh Mayor Robert Weilmuenster.
