| 2 | | WHEREAS, On April 8, 2023, the Village of Shiloh will host |
| 3 | | the Bob Goalby Proclamation Day & Master's Watch Party |
| 4 | | Ceremony; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Goalby graduated from Belleville Township |
| 6 | | High School in 1947 and became a professional golfer in 1956; |
| 7 | | he won 11 PGA Tour events during his career, the most |
| 8 | | prestigious being the 1968 Masters Tournament; he later became |
| 9 | | an analyst for NBC Sports and designed many golf courses, |
| 10 | | including the Yorktown Golf Course; he was the founding member |
| 11 | | of the Senior PGA Tour and served 11 years on its policy board; |
| 12 | | he dedicated his life to golf throughout the country, |
| 13 | | especially in Belleville; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Numerous events have been planned for April in |
| 15 | | honor of Bob Goalby, including the watch party, a carnival, |
| 16 | | and of course, plenty of golf; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, The local police, fire, EMT departments, local |
| 18 | | military personnel, and the general public are all invited to |
| 19 | | participate in the celebration; therefore, be it
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
