HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Brian Weilmuenster on the occasion of his retirement from the 20th Judicial Circuit Court Services and Probation Department after 35 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Brian Weilmuenster began serving the 20th Judicial Circuit Court Services and Probation Department on January 15, 1989; he worked for the St. Clair County Probation Department as a probation officer, an intensive DUI officer, and an administrative caseload officer until he was promoted to adult unit supervisor in 1999; and

WHEREAS, Brian Weilmuenster has served his community of St. Clair County, the 20th Judicial Circuit Court, and the State of Illinois with dedication, distinction, and dignity for over 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Brian Weilmuenster has received numerous awards throughout his career, including special recognition for the apprehension of a fleeing felon in 1993 and recognition for assistance in development of the St. Clair County ICJ system in 2005; he was also the recipient of the Pauline Gansauer Award by the Illinois Probation and Court Services Association (IPCSA) in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Brian Weilmuenster has been a proud member of the Illinois Federation of Public Employees (IFPE) Local 4408, serving alongside his fellow union brothers and sisters since the probation department unionized in 2015; and

WHEREAS, Brian Weilmuenster is an avid fisherman, a food and wine connoisseur, a proud Grateful Dead fan, a history and movie buff, and a member of the Holy Roman Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Brian Weilmuenster will conclude his career on April 1, 2024; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Brian Weilmuenster on his retirement from the 20th Judicial Circuit Court Services and Probation Department, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Brian Weilmuenster as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
