HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Angie Guerrero of Chicago on the occasion of her retirement as an educator for Chicago Public Schools (CPS) after 27 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero immigrated to the United States from Mexico as a child and was raised in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero has dedicated her career to serving her community as an educator; and

WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero began her career in education as a teacher at the Little Village Academy, teaching there for 11 years; and

WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero subsequently served as assistant principal at Gary Elementary School for 16 years, where she was responsible for assisting in the administration, direction, and organization of the school, as well as providing professional support for fellow educators; and

WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero's legacy as an educator continues through her son, who found his own calling in education and has risen to serving as a principal in CPS; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Angie Guerrero on her retirement as an educator for Chicago Public Schools (CPS) after 27 years, and we thank her for her decades of service to students, parents, and fellow educators; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Angie Guerrero as an expression of our esteem and respect.
