HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Angie Guerrero of Chicago
4on the occasion of her retirement as an educator for Chicago
5Public Schools (CPS) after 27 years of service; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero immigrated to the United States
7from Mexico as a child and was raised in the Little Village
8neighborhood of Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero has dedicated her career to
10serving her community as an educator; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero began her career in education as a
12teacher at the Little Village Academy, teaching there for 11
13years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero subsequently served as assistant
15principal at Gary Elementary School for 16 years, where she
16was responsible for assisting in the administration,
17direction, and organization of the school, as well as
18providing professional support for fellow educators; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Angie Guerrero's legacy as an educator continues
20through her son, who found his own calling in education and has

1risen to serving as a principal in CPS; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4we congratulate Angie Guerrero on her retirement as an
5educator for Chicago Public Schools (CPS) after 27 years, and
6we thank her for her decades of service to students, parents,
7and fellow educators; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to Angie Guerrero as an expression of our esteem and
10respect.
