SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jamie L. Rieke of Woodstock, who passed away on July 28, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Rieke was born in Elgin to James and Barbara (Novicki) Rieke on September 6, 1975; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Rieke served as a corrections officer with the McHenry County Sheriff's Office for 17 years; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Rieke's backyard was a gathering place for fires and good food; she was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, Jerry Garcia, and the Grateful Dead; she was beloved and will be missed by her family, friends, and coworkers; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Rieke was preceded in death by her grandparents, Evelyn and Henry Rieke and Winnifried and Gerald Novicki; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Rieke is survived by her parents, Jim and Barb (Novicki) Rieke; her brothers, Darin Rieke, Bill (Christy) Rieke, and Chris Rieke; her sister, Jeri Ann Rieke; her niece, Amanda Rieke; her nephews, Justin Rieke and Gary Rieke; her great-nephew, Maverick; her great-niece, Lorelai; her many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her 143 brothers and sisters in uniform; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jamie L. Rieke and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jamie Rieke as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
