SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Lee Deadmond Sr. of Moline, who passed away on December 4, 2022; and

WHEREAS, William Deadmond was born to Henry Myrle and Mazie (Nelems) Deadmond in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 23, 1942; he served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962; he married Sharon Kaye VonMotz in East Moline on May 13, 1961; and

WHEREAS, William Deadmond was a machine tool operator for John Deere for 32 years; he was active in UAW Local 434 and Industrial Equipment Local #1536, serving the unions as president, financial secretary, and union time study engineer; and

WHEREAS, William Deadmond was a member of Kingdom Life Community Church in Morrison; he enjoyed woodworking and remodeling old houses, and he helped build four churches; and

WHEREAS, William Deadmond was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Lea Deadmond; his granddaughter, Abigail Deadmond; and his sister, Phletious Eads; and

WHEREAS, William Deadmond is survived by his wife, Sharon; his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Rhonda Deadmond; his grandchildren, Jessica (David) Murray, Beth Ann (Case) Hemming, and Katherine Deadmond; and his great-grandchildren, Autumn, Taylor, Gabriel, and Moxie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Lee Deadmond Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Deadmond as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
