SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond G. Saelens of Moline, who passed away on July 21, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens was born in Silvis to Rene and Eliza (DeKoker) Saelens on February 4, 1930; he married Joyce Stahl in Havanah on August 17, 1957; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens worked for the U.S. Army as an accountant; prior to working for the Army, he worked for John Deere; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens was preceded in death by his parents and son, Lawrence "Larry"; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Beth (Michael) Nickell, Mark (Jennifer) Saelens, Daniel (Deborah) Saelens, and Diane (Joseph) Gardner; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raymond G. Saelens and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Raymond Saelens as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
