SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Antonio M. Maldonado of Colona, who passed away on July 21, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Antonio Maldonado was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to Antonio and Maria (Medina) Maldonado on June 5, 1937; he served in the U.S. Army and married Ann Louise Schmidtlein in Henry County on May 13, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Antonio Maldonado was a machine repairman for the Rock Island Line railroad for 21 years; following his retirement from the railroad, he worked for Caseew Holland until his retirement in 2002; and

WHEREAS, Antonio Maldonado was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Antonio Maldonado is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Antonio L., Johnny R., Daniel A. (Penny), and Anita M. Maldonado; his grandchildren, Zachary, Elizabeth, and Nick Maldonado, Jena Wells, Katherine Iossi, and Mitch McIntyre; his great-grandson, Jasper; and his sisters, Esther, Elisha, and Anna; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Antonio M. Maldonado and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Antonio Maldonado as an expression of our esteem and respect.
