SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mark A. Ash of Port Byron, who passed away on July 23, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ash was born to Harold and Florence Lea (Bryant) Ash in Trenton, Missouri on March 3, 1943; he served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Passumpsic during the Vietnam era; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ash was previously employed as an inspector and powerhouse helper with John Deere Harvester for over 30 years; during this time, he was also employed as a part-time delivery man at Highland Packing in Colona; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ash was a member of Orion VFW Post 143; he was an avid bowler; he also enjoyed playing cribbage and attending races at the Cordova Dragway; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ash was preceded in death by his infant son, John; his parents; his brother, Allen; and his twin sisters; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ash is survived by his children, Dave (Shelly DeVolder) Ash, Kim (Eric Rouw) Harris, and Jeff Ash; his grandchildren, Peyton Ash and Morgan Ash; his sisters, Sue Ash and Joy Randolph; and his brother, Roy (Diane) Ash; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mark A. Ash and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mark Ash as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
