SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert William "Bob" Anderson of Moline, who passed away on July 20, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was born in Rock Island on February 27, 1952; he was the son of Richard William and Jane Eleanor (High) Anderson; he served in the U.S. Army and afterward attended the University of Florida; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson worked for Veterans Affairs, John Deere, and the U.S. Post Office before working for the Rock Island Arsenal, from which he retired after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was a member of the Quad City Parrot Head Club and the Svithiod Club; he was an avid fan of sports, including the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs; he loved coaching and serving as an umpire for baseball and softball games, including for his own children's teams; he also loved telling stories and never met a stranger; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Rick; his niece, Amanda Villmer; and his brother-in-law, Mike Villmer; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson is survived by his children, Jason (Andrea) Anderson, Jamie Anderson (Troy Benedict), and Katie J. Anderson; his grandchildren, Danny Laird, Allison Laird, Alysia Anderson, Whitney Anderson, Bryce Benedict, and Tyler Benedict; his siblings, Gary (Marlene) Anderson and Nancy Villmer; his sister-in-law, Linda Anderson; his nieces and nephews, Jenny (Chaunzay) Horne, Eric Anderson, Kaycee Anderson, and James Anderson; and several great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert William "Bob" Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Anderson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
