SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Douglas "Doug" Cobb of South Roxana, who passed away on November 4, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Doug Cobb was born to Don and Marsha (Schaaf) Cobb in Alton on May 10, 1967; he was a graduate of East Alton Wood River High School, where he was an outstanding athlete in both basketball and baseball; he was first team all-conference in basketball and was the first recipient of the 110 Percent Award given by the Alton Exchange Club; and

WHEREAS, Doug Cobb was a member of Carpenters Local 664 for 36 years, and for the last five years, he worked as a business representative; and

WHEREAS, Doug Cobb was on the Board of Directors for the Riverbend Growth Association; and

WHEREAS, Doug Cobb enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at Montauk State Park; most of all, he loved hunting and fishing with his boys and spending time with Julie; and

WHEREAS, Doug Cobb is survived by his parents; his significant other of more than 20 years, Julie Chapman; Julie's parents, James and Mildred Chapman; his two sons, Lucas (Emma) Cobb and Jacob (Lacey) Cobb; his five grandchildren, Hayden, Lila, Brody, Hazel, and Hank; and his sisters, Julie (Rich) Rollins, Kathy (Steven) Twichell, and Amy (Dennis) Daugherty; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Douglas "Doug" Cobb and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Doug Cobb as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
