SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Douglas "Doug" Cobb of South Roxana,
4who passed away on November 4, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Doug Cobb was born to Don and Marsha (Schaaf)
6Cobb in Alton on May 10, 1967; he was a graduate of East Alton
7Wood River High School, where he was an outstanding athlete in
8both basketball and baseball; he was first team all-conference
9in basketball and was the first recipient of the 110 Percent
10Award given by the Alton Exchange Club; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Doug Cobb was a member of Carpenters Local 664
12for 36 years, and for the last five years, he worked as a
13business representative; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Doug Cobb was on the Board of Directors for the
15Riverbend Growth Association; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Doug Cobb enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping
17at Montauk State Park; most of all, he loved hunting and
18fishing with his boys and spending time with Julie; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Doug Cobb is survived by his parents; his
20significant other of more than 20 years, Julie Chapman;

1Julie's parents, James and Mildred Chapman; his two sons,
2Lucas (Emma) Cobb and Jacob (Lacey) Cobb; his five
3grandchildren, Hayden, Lila, Brody, Hazel, and Hank; and his
4sisters, Julie (Rich) Rollins, Kathy (Steven) Twichell, and
5Amy (Dennis) Daugherty; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Douglas "Doug" Cobb and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Doug Cobb as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
