HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Franco Cesar Patino of Naperville, who passed away on November 5, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Franco Patino was born in Melrose Park on February 25, 2000; he graduated from Neuqua Valley High School in 2018; during high school, he was a Physical Education leader and was involved with the football, wrestling, and rugby teams for four years; he was part the 2015 freshmen/sophomore and the 2017 junior varsity state championship rugby team; he was also a part of the WM International Engineering/Bike Boosters at the Darien Center in Darien and continued to be involved with them after high school; and

WHEREAS, Franco Patino was a senior at the University of Dayton in Ohio where he was pursuing his passion as a Mechanical Engineering Technology major with a minor in Human Movement Biomechanics; he was the treasurer of Alpha Psi Lambda, a co-educational Latino interest fraternity, and was active in the Greek and MEC communities on campus; he was the president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, active in the ETHOS program, a campus program where engineering students provide humanitarian-focused services and conduct research projects internationally, and currently working for AtriCure Inc. in the Research and Development Department of an engineering Co-Op program in Mason, Ohio; he was the first person at the University of Dayton in Ohio to organize rugby games with universities nearby and organized a team of his own in Dayton; and

WHEREAS, Franco Patino was loyal, loving, selfless, protective, funny, and caring; even though he was a hardworking individual, he would always try to make time for his family and friends; he had a passion for helping others and lived life to the fullest; and

WHEREAS, Franco Patino is survived by his parents, Julio C. and Teresita Patino, and his brothers, Cesar and Julio Jr. Patino; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Franco Cesar Patino and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Franco Patino as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
