HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Franco
4Cesar Patino of Naperville, who passed away on November 5,
52021; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Franco Patino was born in Melrose Park on
7February 25, 2000; he graduated from Neuqua Valley High School
8in 2018; during high school, he was a Physical Education
9leader and was involved with the football, wrestling, and
10rugby teams for four years; he was part the 2015
11freshmen/sophomore and the 2017 junior varsity state
12championship rugby team; he was also a part of the WM
13International Engineering/Bike Boosters at the Darien Center
14in Darien and continued to be involved with them after high
15school; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Franco Patino was a senior at the University of
17Dayton in Ohio where he was pursuing his passion as a
18Mechanical Engineering Technology major with a minor in Human
19Movement Biomechanics; he was the treasurer of Alpha Psi
20Lambda, a co-educational Latino interest fraternity, and was
21active in the Greek and MEC communities on campus; he was the
22president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers,
23active in the ETHOS program, a campus program where

1engineering students provide humanitarian-focused services and
2conduct research projects internationally, and currently
3working for AtriCure Inc. in the Research and Development
4Department of an engineering Co-Op program in Mason, Ohio; he
5was the first person at the University of Dayton in Ohio to
6organize rugby games with universities nearby and organized a
7team of his own in Dayton; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Franco Patino was loyal, loving, selfless,
9protective, funny, and caring; even though he was a
10hardworking individual, he would always try to make time for
11his family and friends; he had a passion for helping others and
12lived life to the fullest; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Franco Patino is survived by his parents, Julio
14C. and Teresita Patino, and his brothers, Cesar and Julio Jr.
15Patino; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18we mourn the passing of Franco Cesar Patino and extend our
19sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
20and loved him; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Franco Patino as an expression of
