SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary D. Sparks of Port Byron, who passed away on October 19, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Gary Sparks was born to Roy D. and Patricia M. (Donalson) Sparks in Clarksville, Arkansas on January 25, 1951; he married Janet Sacco in East Moline on July 17, 1971; he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Gary Sparks worked for John Deere Harvester in East Moline; he later started Sparks Fiberglass, Inc., retiring after almost 30 years of service in 2013; and

WHEREAS, Gary Sparks was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife; and

WHEREAS, Gary Sparks was known for being extremely active and creative by nature; his proudest achievement was the success of his children; and

WHEREAS, Gary Sparks is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Bryan (Mary) Sparks and Dr. Erin (Jonathon Reneau) Sparks; his grandson, Silver Sparks; his sister, Peggy Sparks; and his brothers, Benjamin Sparks and James Sparks; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary D. Sparks and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Sparks as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
