SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Doud of Silvis, who passed away on August 15, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Jim Doud was born to William "Bill" and Mary (Strachan) Doud in Aledo on October 11, 1939; he was a graduate of United Township High School and served in the U.S. Air Force; he married Mary Jo Danielson at St. Mary's Catholic Church of East Moline on June 10, 1967, and she passed away on October 7, 2021; they shared most of their lives together in Colona, raising their family and enjoying their grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Jim Doud retired from Johnson Sheet Metal in 2000 after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Jim Doud was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his siblings, Mary Louise Sloan, John Doud, and Paul Doud; and his brother-in-law, Robert Wolfe; and

WHEREAS, Jim Doud is survived by his daughters, Kelli (Fred) Cernetisch and Traci (Jeff) Hasson; his grandchildren, Owen, Joci, Jarett, Karoline, and Kenzi; and his sister, Alice Wolfe; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James "Jim" Doud and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Doud as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
